Nick M. Rice

Nick M. Rice is a versatile performing artist, dancer and choreographer from Des Moines, IA. He has trained under the guidance of mentors like Cesar G. Salinas and Nan Giordano of Giordano Dance Chicago, as well as at institutions like Los Angeles' EDGE PAC and Millennium Dance Complex. He also trained at the Joffrey Ballet School Jazz and Contemporary Program in New York City on full scholarship.

Nick previously held the position of competition director at Johnston Dance Academy, and now shares his expertise as an instructor at Charlee’s Elite School of Dance in Waukee. His artistic pursuits span a diverse range, including dance and creative direction for drill teams, show choirs, and theatrical productions, showcasing his boundless creativity and commitment to the arts.

Nick's choreography has earned him acclaim at prestigious events such as the Iowa Choreography Festival and the Des Moines Arts Festival, as well as television features on WHO 13’s “Hello Iowa!” From coaching for Jessalyn (Jojo) Siwa in Omaha, NE, to creating routines for the Iowa Energy Dancers, his collaborations are as varied as they are impressive. As a professional dancer, Nick graces stages as a guest artist with companies such as Iowa Dance Theatre and Ballet Des Moines, lending his talent to productions like “The Nutcracker," "Dracula," and "Snow White."

Beyond dance, Nick is a dedicated student, currently pursuing studies in Spanish Language & Culture and Global Business Leadership at Arizona State University Online. Inspired by his transformative experience studying abroad in Spain in 2022, Nick infuses his latest creation, "Gernika," with a deep exploration of Spanish history and culture. Set to premiere at the 2024 Iowa Choreography Festival, Nick continues to captivate audiences and inspire fellow artists with his unwavering dedication to dance and his passion for Hispanic & Latin culture.
